Most bad Secret Santa gifts come from one missing fact: an allergy, a dislike of scented things, or the fact they already own 40 mugs. A two-minute questionnaire fixes that. The questions above cover tastes (drinks, snacks, colors), interests (hobbies, genres, collections), practical details (sizes, allergies), and the most valuable question of all: what they don't want.

Tips for answers your Santa can actually use
- Be specific: 'dark roast whole-bean coffee' beats 'coffee'.
- Include one or two things you'd love at the bottom of the budget.
- Mention sizes only if you're happy for them to be used.
- Name anything you don't want, such as no more mugs, no scented items or no alcohol.
- Add a store or brand you like; it gives your Santa a safe direction.
- Keep it short; three to six good answers are plenty.
